Mike, thanks for your comment. I certainly respect a freelancer who tells me, “This is what I’m expert at doing and I’m engaging this other person to help with the part that isn’t my expertise.” It makes me feel like the freelancer is concerned about delivering the best possible solution.

Spot on, Brett. I agree completely with the part about clients seeing through the facade. And, as you said, many clients are looking for a one-man-band. I think freelancers should actually go one step further and even promote the fact (and benefits) that they are an individual. Bigger ain’t always better. (unless it’s a logo)

Very true; a great synopsis of the correct attitude and approach to balance the strength and agility of being a freelancer and the breadth of services and experience of a creative network. Great advice for the beginner and reaffirmation of the direct path to success.
