Thanks for the comment, Scott. I like your definition. There is definitely a move toward user-centric solutions these days and whether that's called Web 2.0 or something else, it's a good thing!

Nice article. Buzz words are indeed invading life -- and complicating things for many.

Here's the definition I use of Web 2.0 that might be useful to your readers:

"technolgies that improve access, management, and reuse of digital content; services aim to address end-user goals."

Some excellent examples are:

Indeed.com (making it easier to find jobs)

The S.I.M.I.L.E. project (Semantic Interoperability of Metadata and Information in unLike Environments; check out the Timeline project -- a DHTML AJAX timeline widget for visualizing temporal information)

Structured Blogging (www.structuredblogging.org) an effort to create plug-ins for popular blogging tools that allow bloggers to create structured content that can be easily shared and commoditized (see Incredibooks.com, a site that is created by children using the structured blogging plug-ins (and earning money while doing it).

Web 2.0 may be confusing and perhaps misunderstood, but hopefully, its promise will be delivered as useful and efficient improvements in service over the web.
